Ad in Battalion at Texas A&M: ‘Peed on a Stick & Now You Feel Sick?’

An advertisement in yesterday’s issue of The Battalion at Texas A&M University earns bonus points for creativity. The page-two promo incorporates a bad rhyming pun, a shocked feline and pregnancy confirmation and care services.

The Hope Pregnancy Center’s pitch to the Battalion’s student readers: “Peed on a stick and now you feel sick? Come to us.” And then there’s a cat … for no apparent reason … except maybe to catch the eye?

For what it’s worth, when considered collectively, the events, opportunities and services featured in other ads on the page may or may not represent the entirety of the college student existence: skiing and snowboarding, plasma donation, wisdom teeth removal, on-campus customer service gigs, a country fair sporting rides and a gospel concert and a drive-thru shop selling dozens of flavors of daiquiri drinks.
