Reporting Internship on Gun Violence, Washington D.C.

“Independent investigative reporter and MSNBC contributor seeks an intern to work approximately 20 hours a week. The focus will be on Guns in America, Gun Violence, and the Gun Lobby including the National Rifle Association or NRA.  Journalist supervising the intern is also an adjunct professor at American University, and is prepared to work with intern’s faculty administrators to help arrange university credit. . . . Most of the intern’s research will focus on gun violence, gun control, the gun lobby and related issues. The intern may also be tasked to assist with other substantive matters involving press freedom, human rights or journalist security.”

Individual will work closely with editors on content creation and social media, assisting with the reporting of celebrity news. The ideal candidate is a blog-savvy ‘news hound’ with a passion for celebrity and entertainment stories, an eye for viral pop culture content and breaking news, experience with WordPress, fluency in a variety of social media platforms, and previous writing for publications online.
